Dube Field is a wonderful field that is cared for by volunteer Ken Capone. Mowing the lawn, weed prevention and care for the areas around the field are labor intensive tasks that consume hours of time. Other volunteers came by for a successful field cleanup day in which dozens of people pitched in.

The grass is beautiful, the dirt soft and level and the mound is pristine.

However, in recent weeks members of the board have become increasingly concerned by several issues at Dube. We need your help to remind people of small things they need to do to help care for this field and the surrouding area.

TRASH

The amount of trash found in the dugouts and the stands at Dube is shocking, both in front of the Concession Stand and in/around the two dugouts.  Coaches need to be responsible for the trash and insist that parents and spectators pick-up after themselves.  This should NOT be Ken Capone's responsibility.  Also, we need to make sure that the two barrels next to each dugout have trash bags inside.  If none - get one.  If full, empty.

Parents, if you notice there's no trash bag available and the coach is busy with the team, please take a moment and ask the volunteer at the concession stand. They'll gladly give you a trash bag.

SMOKING

There is absolutely no smoking allowed near the field, in the parking lot, or anywhere on the premises at Dube.

CONCESSION STAND

1. Coaches, if you have a game scheduled at Dube, and you are the Home team, you are responsible for running the stand.

2. The last team that leaves Dube for the day needs to do a better job of cleaning the stand.  When I arrived, there was still trash in the stand and the counters were not clean.  We are serving food - and cleanliness is important.

3. Weekend games - volunteers should be there at least 15 - 30 minutes before the start of their respective games to take over for the other volunteers.

Thank you for your cooperation and support in caring for this shared resource.
